I'm at it again! Remember nail trims are very important to a dogs health. Neglect of toe nails can be very painful for the dog. Sometimes they curl and grow into their foot..ouch! If the nails are allowed to grow too long it can cause joint/foot pain, as the toes are now not in proper alignment. Like us walking with our toes pointing up, because our nails are too long. Some dogs do keep their nails trimmed like their wild ancestors when they walk a lot esp on hard surfaces. Dogs that pull on the lead and walk you :ROFLOL: will probably be ones to grind their own nails, but this is not an absolute. It is best to stay on top of this and make sure they are being worn down, if not they need to be trimmed for the health of the dog.

This one has different yet important info, and a different way of doing the trim. I like it but is not as up close as the first video, but still worth watching:).



This next one is great. It uses positive reinforcement to get a dog to tolerate or dare I say eager to have a nail trim. It is a great way to train ones dog for the trim whether he goes to the groomer or is done at home. Groomers dont have the time to do this, unless you are willing to pay for their time to do so. That can be a pretty penny ! It is best to help make grooming in general easier on the dog by getting them used to it at home. Groomers do work with dogs, but to an extent as time is money!



And of course how to dremmel! Some dogs do better with dremmeling, while others with regular nail clippers:).
