Welcome
Welcome to letstalkpetfoods

Hello ,

Thank you for your interest in Lets Talk Pet Foods Forum.

I am sorry to tell you that I am in the process of closing the forum due to lack of communication by members and the financial upkeep required on my part.

I recommend that you visit and perhaps consider subscribing to the newsletters on Susan Thixton's blog , The Truth about Pet Foods. http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/

I am turning over all my information to Susan to add to her informative site.

Sincerely,

Pamela Myers

:hooray: I love to do work with rescues I have 4 of my own some feral that needed training. But one org. Ijust loved to volunteer for is called The St. John Feral Cat Fund up here in Plattsburgh N.Y. Victoria St. John does all non profit work and tales care of all the feral cat populations around here. She practices no kill, TNR polices and even adopts out strays at PetsMart. She is an amazing woman and does it all out of her pocket, home and what little donations she gets from fundraisers she puts on.
Doing a rescue is the most rewarding thing you can do, but so is volunteering and giving donations to keep these small but beneficial organizations going if not for us, for them. :thank you:

I agree. I rescued 5 feral kittens this past year (story and photos are on here) and the last one was placed in February, all through a local cat rescue here, working through the Petsmart Adoption system.

:bravo: You are so awesome it is really hard up here to find people to foster or even enough people to adopt. The PetsMart charities is a great org. I'm not sure what Victoria would do without them or people like us that open their hearts and their homes. It's an amazigng feeling to see them go into a new home then see them later to see how happy they are and how much they have grown. Sorry I'm a big sap when it comes to this sort of thing. :cats:

:hooray: I did see them they are so beautiful. the people that do rescues are the lucky ones to take an animal that was in such squalor and to bring them into your home and show them the love they missed out on they turn into different animals they seem to know real love and respect because they know it could have been so much worse. I think they can sense who the good ones are. I don't think I could trade any of mine in for the whole world they really are the best when they aren't being a little pest(j/k) :hee Hee:

Oh good, I am so glad you got to see them before the Rescue boards stopped showing up! I did manage to save most of the posts from the Rescue and Lost and Found boards, so I am in hopes that when the forum finally does get fixed properly, that everything will still be available and all I have to do is move it back to where it belongs.

I had to stop rescue as it is way too emotional for me......... and then I have nightmares. But I am so happy that I did what I could while I could and it is very rewarding.
