Post subject: What Happens To Your Pet If You Are In A Car Crash?
New postPosted: Tue Jul 07, 2009 10:59 pm
WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PET IF YOU ARE IN A CAR CRASH AND YOU ARE UNCONSCIOUS?

Have you left instructions in your car where they can easily be found to tell rescue workers what to do with your pet in the event you can not speak ? What if your pet has escaped during the accident? How would they know to look for the pet? Where would they take the pet?

Consider this post from a member on a Yahoo List !

* With all the discussion on this issue there has been no discussion on what happens if you are incapacitated in the crash.

Make sure there is emergency information on your crate/kennel or glove box or somewhere that can tell emergency personnel or someone who they can call to take care of your dogs if you can't. I'm not sure but I've heard that emergency personnel don't put that as a high priority on their to do list.

Also, fill out a vet form release or have a note indicating what measures to take on behalf of your dog and who will pay so that the vet's will proceed with care.

Just a thought,
Gail
