Don't they all. LOL Its funny how people don't think a poodle can get down and dirty. I tell you us poodle lovers take alot of crud, almost as much as pitbull owners.
My feeling were hurt this past weekend by one of our rescue gals. She was talking to an adoptive family, they were adopting the poodle/sheltie mix. Which if that dog were mine, he would be trimmed just like a poodle. Steph had asked me to shave his face the week before. I did and love his face,as did she. But of course that gal gave me flack about it, always in a joking way.
But I was called friday and asked to bring my grooming stuff to give the (June touch)
So I go there, pull out Jinger to go clip her face, out we come and the other gals starts saying out loud to those adoptive people, OHHHhhhhh there she goes agian, always clipping those poodles faces.. I told her to knock it off already basically. Later told her she really hurt my feelings. She has no clue what poodle lovers love. She said she had poodles years ago, but were fluffy. Thats just not what true poodle lovers like. She thought they should have fluffy faces when they are pups. This dog was at least a year and ahalf, so now what.
Basically I felt I was under attack for what i believe a poodle should look like, and how they should be cared for. I am not a breeder so don't really respond to posts on showing dogs, and breeding them. But I know what a poodle needs.
She did apologize.
Sorry for my rant. But we poodles get flack just as much a pitbull owners.

Hi June,

I like clean shaven also, but when I had Bijou, my mini I mentioned before, I used to keep a small mustache on him most of the time.

I like clean faces though, but the mustache I kept on Bijou was small and clean and just showed that he was a male :) It looked nice too! Can't see it to well in those old photos though!

Hi June,
I personally like my poos to be cleaned face too! I think even the poodles love to be shaved face and groomed. At least all my poos did anyway. For they felt so light weighted! Totally agree that some people just do not get the difference with a poodle then other breeds. Oh the next time somebody even joking says something about being fluffy that they should be just ask them would they want to carry around all that thick hair as it weighs them down. :D

Both my dogs. They seem when they were like fluffy face and body before getting groomed that they would just not have much energy.

One was 18 pounds when groomed and full of live all the way up til most of her life. But when it was time to be groomed which I had to after an incident she would end up being at least 20 to 21 pounds. She had such thick hair and always so cute and white when she was groomed. Though would love to roll into the dirt and mud when she had the chance. grins.
