Hi gang,
Decided to post about her while I have time lol! My friend that was teaching me about the show world has graciously placed her *pick* miniature puppy, Fergie, in my home as my new show dog! I originally wanted a toy as my next show dog, but she wont have any for a few years, and this way I am able to show and be competitive in the ring, now.
I am honored that she allowed me to have Forget Me not's Debutante or Fergie. As in princess lol. She is about 8m old now, have had her for about 2ms now, and at her first show(handled by yours truly) obtained her first 2 pts towards her Championship. Took a couple pix but it is no where near as nice as the photographer's pix of her and her sister(I hopefully will get some copies to show you all in my gallery). I know she is beautiful, but wow she sure was gorgeous all done up. Her next show is in late January in Anchorage, AK.
Eve gets along well with Fergie altho she has had to "tell her off" a couple of times because of how rambunctious she gets. Fergie is learning, and has calmed down a lot more. She is a particularly calm and obedient puppy to begin with, but more so now lol. She was whelped and raised by my other friend and co-owner that owns and shows/competes with labs. So Fergie does have some lab-ish tendencies, but we are working on it lol. Like when she leaves a trail of water after she finishes having a drink! So undiva like!
Here are a couple of pix that dont do her justice(wait till I get the show photos), but I will def have more in my Gallery(when I get to it lol). I will even have some of Fergie and Eve together of course.

Hi Pam,
Sorry I didnt get to you sooner, now that I work it seems like I hardly have time for all the web surfing I used to have! Oh well, I just have to multi task lol! Thank you, I agree she is quite the looker, you should see her dam, sire and grandsire lol! Hmm if I can nab the time I will send those pix too!! My friend has her and her sister's show pix, but she hasnt had the time to get me a copy or send me the downloaded pix from her work computer. Hmm maybe I should email her at work lol! Yes you finally know what I look like :ROFLOL: ! That is me stacking her on the table:), but unfortunately I didnt have anyone that could take a good stinkin picture :waiting: . The top pic I am holding her lead foward with my right and holding the camera with my left behind me and then guesstimating by the look of the red dot lol where the right place would be to take the pic and get decent quality one. Not too bad just wish I hadnt chopped the top of her hair of lol! You know I never really thought of myself as being ambitious. I guess I sorta am, grooming these two is harder when you work all week and are too tired for grooming. It's not a grooming job, so it is not like I can take them to the shop everyday and pull em out when it's slow lol. I used to be able to do that when it was just Eve years ago. I dont think my youth(not as young as I would like to be) is all that helpful right now lol. I wish it were, as shows and now work are really exhausting!
Fergie has a beautiful thick coat! It puts Eve to shame and it pretty much takes me 2x or more as long to groom her than Eve. She dries slower too! Good thing she is in the puppy trim, I find that easier to maintain than the continetal. All that intricate shaving and then scissoring.. the Puppy trim I can go pretty long just shaving her face feet and tail without it looking too bad. She goes into the continental after Jan 25 as her 1yr b-day is before the show after Jan 24-25 shows.

You look good woman ! ~ I love to see what members look like :) I like putting faces to names. You look Hawaiian!

Is the continental an easier cut than the other because there is less hair on her, or harder because there are more small areas to keep shaped?

LOL, thanks Madam :blushing:. Hmm I guess I kinda do look Hawaiian lol, but Im Mexican:). Hubby was born in Hawaii, and altho IMO he looks Caucasian, he is half Portuguese, 1/4 caucasian, 1/8 hawaiian, and 1/8 chinese! You would never know by looking at him tho lol. I agree, it is nice to put faces to names. You can always picture the person you are talking to then and not just words on the screen.

Hmm tuff question... Continental or puppy trim.. They both have their pros n cons. With a puppy trim, you can go longer between scissoring, so long as you do the feet, face, n tail.. most people wouldnt notice they need shaping lol. With the continental, you would have to the the rest of the body when you did the f,f &t or you will notice the dog needs a cut and there is more intricate work esp around the rosettes(butt puffs) so that takes longer. When it comes to brushing and drying the Puppy trim esp on a dog that has a coat like Ferg it is more involved than the continental... esp when they are going thru a coat change like she is now *sigh*. She gets knotted in the pitts and loin area unless Im on top of it. Short answer for me tho the puppy trim overall is the easier trim, as I have to have the dog's cut maintained and looking good. I am really a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to shaving the more intricate area of the rosettes on the continetal so that takes me longer. On the puppy trim tho as long as I do the F,f&t the dog looks put together and I can just scissor here and there to make it look better without an all over scissor. Plus hair is shorter and easier to maintain on neck and head, and they are just plain fun to snuggle!!!
This weekend is a 2 day show, so hopefully she will get her majors this weekend, if not there is always March! I also finally got her pic and had hubby scan it so I will be able to post that... hopefully. Unfortunately it is a PDF. format so wont be automatically seen like the JPG :NotFair: . Wish I had it JPG so I could make another hard copy, may just have to go to wally world for that *sigh*. Just dont wann leave it there with them as it may get lost or something!
