As much as I love all the fluff. I love a freshly groomed poo even more. I am glad I got to see your avatar closer. What a pretty face.

It's a lot of fun to snuggle all that hair :), but she gets all sorts of foods stuck in her beard. She also licks her face more.. maybe cause it bothers her, so I make sure it stays clean. For the photo I got lazy, then it progressed to oh she looks cute, then ok Im tired of all the licking, and all muggy mouth lol. She always goes thru an "ugly" period between the fresh shaved look and the slightly fuzz look lol!

Do you clip her yourself or send her a packin, LOL I have no patience for scissoring. I'd like to have poms on the ankles, but I fear mine would be sporting a differant look on each one.

Nah I groom her myself 8) lol. Im a groomer by trade, but at this time Im Home makin' bwuahaha... somtimes it drives me nuts not to get to groom so maybe I need another poo  . I dont mind scissoring, but it gets aggravating wanting to give her a full scissor cut.. but the hair hasn't grown back fast enough. Aside from face feet and tail in my avatar she has had a full scissor cut.. no "cheating" and it was fun to see her transformed for the first time. Esp since She gets minor haircuts every 2 weeks lol.
I would love to give or keep pom poms on Eve as he body type could pull it off really cute as she has dainty legs which would emphasize the poms. Unfortunately she has a hair problem on her hocks which I havent hed tested for YET. By tested i mean thyroid, but it's been 3.5 yrs so even if I find out why she may never fill in those spots like a normal dog.. who knows. l havent had her tested for it since it's more cosmetic than anything else, BUT I would love for her to have more hair there. Pom poms are really not that difficult to do but are more time consuming sometimes.. I actually like doing them to get practice, but I dont do them often on Eve. Right now Im growing her hair in a show puppy trim, and when it gets warmer I'll give her a continental for kicks and will be able to give pom poms then! She looks good in the continental, I think since the sparseness isnt AS noticible.

Why thank you I have had plenty of time lately to perfect my scissoring skills lol. When I worked for someone else I felt pretty rushed and didnt concentrate as much on that aspect lol. It was more like a treat em and street em feeling, but although they werent as perfect as they could have been they still turned out pretty nice  .
Yes I have had dogs that zigged when I zagged, even my own dog. Usually seems to only happen when I use clippers and not scissors, but it still happens. If it's not bad I blend it in better and if it's really noticible I just tell the owner the truth, that although they are domesticated their actions can still be unpredictable and usually they understand.. so when i zigged she zagged. I remember one terrier mix that I was trimming the pads out(hated feet messed with) tried to bite me and managed to get a chunk of extremely noticible mustache off. I never groomed it again since i got tired of it's lack of manners.. so i pawned her off on my associate haha! It's up to the pet owner and breeder to get their pets used to grooming whether it is at home or at the groomers, and I will not tolerate too much misbehavior from future clients. life is too short ;) !

Yep, they really have no clue that they should help prepare their dogs, so's they are not fearful. LOL Yesterday, I got to shave the face of this poodle- sheltie mix. Yep, thats what he and his sister were. But they looked like blindle poodles. Fur felt different, they also got the mucky dirty feel that regular dogs get. Not poodles. He looked so cute. I have this thing about clean faced poos. I feel like I have not formally met them till I see them with a clean shaven face. I could not take my eyes off him after. His topknot was needing some growth, but in my opinion, he looked way better. Our rescue founder also loves poos too. She has a georgous spoo that was about to be turned intot he shelter, but one of our gals was there. Wickett was only about 5 months old then, now a bit over a year. He's beautiful.
Anyways, Stephanie, his owner and I both think the same, about alot of things. She love a clean shaven face too. Everybody else laughs at us for wanting the poos to look this way. Oh welllllllll. LOL
Mustaches are cute, but On light colored poo's you see the brownish stuff on them, so off it goes. LOL

I always get the impression that clients think that that's what groomers for and that it's ok for their dogs to bite us cause its' part of the job. I dont think so! Anywho sheltie-poos? How interesting. I know there are poodles that do have brindle coats but i have never had the "joy" of grooming one let alone seeing one in person. You know I kinda wish that poodles came in clean faces so we wouldnt have to worry of unruly newbies. I love clean faces as well and I try to convince people to get that(most do) simply to get the dog used to it. Then they can let the hair grow! Mustaches are ok, but I hate the food crud on it. Besides that is soo 50's (I think) lol.
My associate groomed this lil red mini and would only shave under the eyes as per owners instructions since she liked the scruffy look. As she got older she decided that she wanted the shaved face well she was a holy terror at that point. Was really good for everything except the face/muzzle *sigh*. I ended up grooming her for about a year and she never was good for the face. You would think she would have learned! She would fight until she was put in the "position"(after a few grooms) and then she would need very little restraint. So it's not like she couldnt behave it's just that she wanted to give us a run for our money lol! By the way I have groomed shitzu rottie mixes before lol!
I would love to have another poo.. dog actually but the hubby is against it... for now *evil grin*. I keep teeter tottering between a large dog and a toy dog. If I go for toy I may go for a show prospect toy poodle, as I think it would be fun to compete and logically speaking is the better choice as a pet. Or I may get a GSD for schutzhund or a pet GSD, Dobie, Pittie, and maybe if I get the hubby drunk enough a std poodle LOL! Very indecisive as this next one will be our last one till one or the other passes. We can only have 2 cat or dogs.

I have two lhasa apsos, they are my baby, and we take them to the groomers at least twice a year. i live in hawaii, so when it gets long, it is hot for them, it seems like they know when they go to the groomers cuz they get really scared. the groomers always tell us that they are great and don't misbehave. the female one, shade is terrified of heights so the groomers always say she is shaking when she gets on the table. they are my babies. i love them to death. i wish i had pix of them
