Wish I could but live in the city. I could just imagine having far animals in this little yard. :flipped out:

Although we do have wild turkeys that comes into our yard and lots of rabbits too. Guess they figure our place is a farm. :Hee Hee:

Hi Brook,

When we lived in New York, back prior to 2001, we had chickens and rosters, (and fresh eggs all the time), several banty hens and roosters, two wild turkey's (which we released as soon as winter was over ), a peacock (which we found a home for prior to our moving), and our 4 cats, 2 of which have since been PTS, as they were all up in age. We still have two of them 12 and 13 years old.

When I was younger, back in the early 70's, I raided pigs, with a previous husband. That was interesting~ One of them chased me one day and I made it to the fence, :ROFLLM: They can be nasty!

If you look in the gallery, you can see lots of photos of Karri's farm pets. She uses her Pig, Jack-Jack as a model in the local Virgina Beach doggie fashion show each year.

We used to have a killer turkey (my sister thought my small farm needed one), a goose (rescued from a parking lot in a neighboring senior citizen village), assorted ducks and chickens. We also raised a steer (horrible experience for me). Our menagerie also featured a horse (who is still with us 30 years later), 4 cats and two dogs.

All of our creatures have names, which, perhaps is not a good thing --it wasn't in the case of the steer which my husband had dedicated as food from the time he brought it home. I loved that steer. :sobbing:

Have many stories of our winged and feathered companions as well as of our furred, haired and four legged ones.

Sandy

Yes, not a good idea if your family intends to eat them after ! I could NEVER live on a farm where they butchered animals for food Not that I think it is wrong, I don't, but I can't be around to watch and would not want to be around either.
That must have been horrible for you !
