Welcome
Welcome to letstalkpetfoods

Hello ,

Thank you for your interest in Lets Talk Pet Foods Forum.

I am sorry to tell you that I am in the process of closing the forum due to lack of communication by members and the financial upkeep required on my part.

I recommend that you visit and perhaps consider subscribing to the newsletters on Susan Thixton's blog , The Truth about Pet Foods. http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/

I am turning over all my information to Susan to add to her informative site.

Sincerely,

Pamela Myers

I like the stuff and so does my pack. They are pricier than NV but claim to use organic fruits/veggies and USDA meat except for venison which comes from NZ. All good but does anyone have more detail on this company?

(I know, I know -- I should do my own research. I did send an email to the company and will let you know what they say.)

LOL, I would never say that to you Beryl! I will be happy to do the research for you. It is one I have not even got up on the site yet. So, this is a good one for me do research on. If the forum is not up after I do it, I will post it in here, because I can move the entire thread to the Primal board later on :)

This is what I sent them and I'll post their reply when (or if) I receive one:

Quote:
Where is Primal Manufactured?

I've been feeding both Primal and Nature's Variety but NV's recent policy to not disclose manufacturer location and caused me to not purchase from them anymore. I'd hate to hear that they are using Menu Foods facilities where they've had serious recalls. I don't understand the big secret and what companies have to hide.

Where do you manufacture your food? I read on your site that all food comes from the USA except lamb and venison. I also read this:

"Primal Pet Foods 100% human grade raw frozen pet food formulas are produced in a temperature controlled, state of the art, certified USDA food manufacturing facility. The raw materials used in all Primal Pet Foods Formulas are procured from farms, ranches and raw food facilities that meet the highest standards in safety and sanitation. Primal Pet Foods formulas are produced in small batch runs to ensure freshness, safety and consistency."

1. Where are your facilities?
2. Do you allow people and inspectors to visit so I can get independent information? .

Thank you, in advance, for responding to these questions. I am very concerned about what I feed my pack and would rather home cook than to buy food without having all of the information I need.

Beryl

Hi,

Great ! I just sent you an email with the all the research I did which I will be putting on the forum as soon as it is fixed. .... I will be creating a PRIMAL BOARD in the food section as soon as I can get to the boards to fix them as they are a mess right now.

I was going to email them also, but I will wait now to see what they write back to you first.

Sadly, they have not responded in this many days. I even checked my SPAM folder - just in case. That speaks volumes, IMO.

I guess they got the message.

Beryl,
My apologies for the delay in reply; we have been inundated with consumer inquires and are doing our best to keep up with the demand.

Per your inquiry; our foods are manufactured in our plant located in San Mateo, CA as well as a sister plant in Portland, OR. Both facilities are inspected by State Department of Agriculture officials and the Portland plant is inspected by the USDA.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thank you for your support of our brand.

Regards,
Matt

It has been almost 2 weeks since I sent my email. Are you planning to respond to this message? I am surprised when companies do not quickly respond to customer emails given how quickly their image can be tarnished on the internet.

Hi Beryl,

Sorry it took so long to responded to you. I just now got around to singing on with my Lets Talk User name, and was going down the line, subscribing to all the forums......so I will be notified when ever someone posts in any of them, and when I got to this one, I saw your post. Now am subscribed , so I should be notified from here on it :)

I am so glad they answered you, finally !

I have a feeling that they may be really busy because so many want to upgrade to a better food and they are having to answer a lot of questions for potential customers who, like yourself, are disgusted with the lower grade foods and all the nonsense.
