Hello ,

Thank you for your interest in Lets Talk Pet Foods Forum.

I am sorry to tell you that I am in the process of closing the forum due to lack of communication by members and the financial upkeep required on my part.

I recommend that you visit and perhaps consider subscribing to the newsletters on Susan Thixton's blog , The Truth about Pet Foods. http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/

I am turning over all my information to Susan to add to her informative site.

If this comes to pass, it will radically effect the way we eat. the way we feed our animals, what we eat and where it comes from.

An EPA report of proposed rules on regulating greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide and methane are greenhouse gasses) has Farm Bureau members upset as these rules could translate into a "methane" tax on livestock.

Ranchers with more than a certain amount of livestock could wind up paying up to $175 per dairy cow or $87.50 per beef cow.

A typical dairy cow releases over 156 pounds of methane into the atmosphere each year, just by burping. (Study by Iowa State University.)

Another article on the same subject. Scroll down to the bottom of this one and you will find a comment by a PETA person saying that it makes a lot of sense and will cut down on meat consumption and "recoup environment losses".

Peta reps are going to say it makes sense as they are the ones I'm sure of forcing these ridiculous laws. Of course they don't want to see any animals on earth here period. Next will be humans distinction!

All this just boggles my mind ! This is right on the heels of the new FDA laws regarding what can be fed to Animals we use for foods, which is costing the ranchers a pretty penny per head now,(much more than before the new law and requirements),to dispose of the downed livestock, which can no longer go into the food chain, even for animals feeds now!
